Designing new formats of labelling for e-commerce packaging
At: University of Twente
Awareness on environmental effects is rising due to new knowledge and changing consumer behaviour. At the same time, e-commerce (consumers buying products online) is growing. Combining these aspects, new formats of packaging (through labelling) are researched where the focus is on e-commerce products. The final design consists of a package-label combination that contains all the important elements when transferring to more sustainable labelling design for e-commerce. It can be used as a guideline for designers when integrating different elements towards these desired new package-label combinations. Furthermore, a roadmap design is introduced compensating for aspects that are expected to be less accepted by consumers or less desirable by the company, which can be used as steps-in-between. The designs are used to test on consumer acceptance as well.
