Bachelor Assignment

A new type of protective motorcycle gear is the external protection pad on the shoulder. This protective pad protects the rider in the event of a crash. It improves the abrasion resistance and dissipates the impact better for the internal protection.

The design had to be considered safe, qualitative and sporty to the user. Research has been done to learn how a design could have those three factors.

After two design stages and two co-design workshops the results was a new design that Damen Leathers can implement into their race suits.
