TPN is a fluid mixture, consisting of a variety of nutrients, that is administered elsewhere in the body than through the mouth, alimentary canal and digestive system. TPN is used in basically every type of hospital. But to compound (create) TPN, it is nowadays still being done manually, or by using “outdated” compounding machines.

That is why, the “TPN module” was designed. Onto this device, a preassembled disposable tube set can be inserted. In total this set has 14 channels, suitable for connecting 14 supplements. And, by using 14 (custom made) pinch valves, the channels can be closed and opened. And when the peristaltic pump is turned on, this allows for dosing the supplements into an IV bag. Finally, the GUI on the touchscreen is used for controlling the device.
