Niels Lammersen plans to place a new product on the market after seeing a business opportunity. The thesis uses an standard design methodology. The start is an extensive problem definition phase and these problems were solved using various methods and analyses. These solutions and several iterative processes brought us eventually to a 3D model and a selected material.

The investigation of the thesis takes into account: brand identity, the proposed target group, sustainability, European food packaging law, force simulations and cost estimation based on production techniques. In the end, a single-use syrup capsule was designed. Furthermore, we see a trend in recycled plastics being used in food packaging and the rise of the bio plastics industry.
