Bachelor Assignment

In a multidisciplinary team consisting of members associated to either the University of Twente, Utrecht University or the Dutch Ministry of Defence, a protection solution against harmful substances is being developed. This project was approached from a design engineering perspective. This involved relating the project’s progress to the “typical” Design Engineering Process. This was done to identify what the main points of attention should be. It was determined that most could be gained from the development of testing environments for potential concepts. Rather than just ‘real life’ testing, it was opted to pursue a combination of Cyber-Physical Systems and a Digital Twin to enable testing. These different domains provide necessary data for the creation of efficient, effective, and workable prototypes.
