Design of a co-design toolkit for young adults with autism spectrum disorder to support their independence
At: Stichting Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen
This bachelor assignment aimed to design a new co-design toolkit focussed on the interaction between young adults with autism and their caregiver. This method should help the user to start designing their own solutions to problems, this to improve the user’s independence. This toolkit was designed with a combined use of literary analysis and a case study.
The result of this project was that the user needed continuous activation during the, for them unknown, design process. Therefore, a toolkit was designed which gives the users a general guideline to support them in this design process, this guideline is further supported through the use of prompts which will provide the users with a task or question to prevent stagnation of the design process.
