Use of technology to track the wellbeing of domestic dogs

At: N/A

The objective of the thesis was to understand tracking technologies can be effectively implemented in the form of a product such that the wellbeing of domestic dogs could be tracked. The origin of the thesis was the moral duty that dog owners have to focus on their pet's wellbeing, but often do not acknowledge. The result was the Dog Health Manager which is a smart food dispenser and wearable tracker that combine recorded data to give valuable health insights to the dog owner. These tangible components were accompanied by an application design where collated data can be viewed. In addition to caloric management, the application also provides the option to schedule meals, get recommended food portions with respect to received exercise, behavioural tracking, vaccination/medication tracking etc.
