Bachelor Assignment

This bachelor thesis explores how sustainable design tools can be better implemented by freelance designers and design agencies. Although many tools exist, they are rarely used due to lack of awareness, complexity, and poor alignment with design workflows. A literature review and expert interviews reveal that smaller design practices struggle to integrate sustainability compared to large in-house design teams. Based on these findings, the thesis proposes a web-based platform that helps designers select, understand, and apply sustainability tools effectively. The concept includes a searchable tool database, usage guidelines, and support for communicating with clients. While promising, the solution is not yet tested in practice. The thesis concludes that improving accessibility and usability of tools can support better integration of sustainability in design, especially for smaller design professionals.
