Developing a threading solution for Alucable mats

This project revolves around the development of a new workstation for the threading of Alucable entrance mats at ABI. The existing assembly process, which involves manual insertion of steel cables through aluminium profiles and rubber spacer cups one cable at a time, is physically demanding and inefficient. Following a detailed analysis of the company's assembly practices and stakeholder interests, a threading solution was developed. Through iterative design and testing, a user-friendly solution was created that can significantly reduce strain on users and speed up threading by allowing multiple cables to be threaded at a time, while maintaining the required adjustability for Alucable mat production.
