Developing a packaging for a modular egg transferring machine
At: Prinzen B.V.
This assignment focused on designing a machine packaging for one of the new machines of Prinzen. The packaging is designed for internal transport, to better allow for outsourcing of production. But also for external transport to poultry farmers globally. The machine is modularly packed in any order during the production process, allowing parallel part production. However, the unpacking is made to be sequential and straightforward. The final concept is called the Dual Pack and consists of two pallets stacked on top of each other. The top pallet raises a heavy module up to its assembly height. During final assembly the machine is assembled partially within the packaging. Once the heavy module's weight is supported by the machine's frame, the packaging requires only minimal disassembly and can be smoothly slid out.
