A simulation selection tool to improve efficient decision-making in data-driven design

At: UT

Data-driven design is a method of making design decisions based on data collected by designers. It allows designers to make precise predictions by using historical and statistical models on their products. One way to collect data is the use of simulations. A simulation can be described as the creation of a virtual model of a system or product to study its behaviour and specify certain characteristics under various conditions. In the evolving landscape of design engineering the role of simulations and data-driven decision-making has become increasingly significant. The growing number of types of simulations that can be performed can be considered overwhelming. A tool was developed to assist students in selecting simulations that are appropriate for specific design stages or objectives.
