Assessing factor relevance in a production simulation model
During this thesis, a Discrete Event Simulation (DES) model of a production process in an ultra-precision production environment has been developed. Models such as these allow for production processes to be analyzed and improved without impacting the real-world performance of a system. By assessing factor relevance of a great many parameters which influence the model, a selection of impactful factors has been determined. This allows engineers to determine which sorts of data collection do and do not cause great impact on a system's performance, allowing for more targeted approached to future data collection and model improvement.
