This project aims to enhance winter safety by designing a user-friendly salt dispenser. The device stores road salt in a easy-to-refill container and automatically spreads it evenly across icy surfaces during use. Key features include a tool-free mounting system, top-loading refill lids, and a controlled dispensing mechanism that works reliably even in freezing, wet conditions. The final design is durable, lightweight, and quick to prepare, ensuring it can be operated with minimal effort. A prototype confirmed the feasibility of the system, showing consistent spread width, safe handling, and simple maintenance. The result is a practical, scalable solution that enhances safety on slippery paths and can be adapted for broader applications in the future.
