Reducing Particulate Matter Emissions using filterconfigurations

The Bachelor's Assignment resulted in the development and validation of an effective filter configuration for reducing particulate matter emissions from pellet wood stoves. After evaluating multiple concepts in the test setup of BaseInnovations, the HEPA-based filter configuration proved to perform the best. The final design consisted of multiple filters arranged to first capture larger particles. This prevents clogging of the finer HEPA filters and extends their service life. Adjustments to the filter order and type further improved the overall filtration efficiency. The final concept demonstrates a practical solution to reduce particulate air emissions, contributing to improved local air quality and public health.
