Bachelor Assignment

The project is provided by Nastech, a Dutch company aiming to refurbish Holtkamper's Spacer and Flyer models with a renewed tent design and sell them back to the market. The previous designer conducted the initial research and conceptual design for Nastech through market analysis, user investigation, and a sustainability approach. While the initial research addressed user needs and defined a geometry-based design using 2D sketches, this thesis focuses on the technical details of the trailer tent's functionality and modularity. The key design challenges that were identified lie in the seam and zipper construction for waterproofing, material behaviour, and compatibility, in addition to window design for ventilation and thermal comfort, as well as modular connections between tent components and trailer chassis.
