Bachelor Assignment

An assembly line for Industrial Design Engineering students is added to an upcoming workshop at the University of Twente. The first years students will be assembling designs made by the second years. To facilitate this activity, a design of a modular workbench unit with storage space for the assembly line is requested. The project started off with analysis, followed by a problem definition, and a design phase with ideation and conceptualizations. Then. the concept was evaluated and revised, which led to a finalization. The final workbench design is modular, mobile, ergonomic, has storage space and a custom appearance. The design does need further research to be finalized, on production and strength for example, but all in all it succeeded at creating a design suitable to accommodate the assembly line in the Learning Factory.
