A sustainable alternative to petrochemical product packaging
At: SP Packaging
This bachelor thesis proposes a more sustainable alternative to petrochemical product packaging incorporating bio-plastics and recycled plastics. As a fundamental part of the thesis, an explorative study on bio-plastics was conducted, to assess what alternatives are readily available and practical for the desired application. The composition of the final design implies that no virgin petrochemical plastics (made from crude oil) will be used, and instead from a renewable and recycled source. The final design solution provides a more environmentally sustainable and cost-friendly alternative, while retaining the practical performance and presentation of the packaging as much as possible.
