To make an impact on the way resources are being consumed and work towards a more circular economy, reuse and recycling are two important ways to go about this. Packaging deposits have an impact in this circular use and therefore, Boa Nova wants to include it in their Pickup Club (circular hubs) concept. While existing deposit packaging collection technology is sufficient for the conventional use in grocery stores, unstaffed gas stations offer new challenges to overcome. Several additional sub-systems have been developed to make this use case feasible and overcome these challenges. Some of these solutions like automatic crate stacking and the cloud ticket system could also stand their own as they could be implemented in the existing machinery as well in the regular use case providing advantages.
