Bachelor Assignment

Kumasi drinks is a company that sells drinks made of cacao pulp and strives for improvement of the cacao farmers wellbeing and being sustainable. After conducting research on their products pollution impact they found that 25% of their pollution was due to their glass bottle packaging.

To reduce this this bachelor assignment was created and research was done to find a more sustainable solution for their design. The idea that came from the research is a the loly, which is a plastic stick filled with the drinks syrup and sealed using an edible seaweed film. This improves the sustainability of the drink, since only the syrup is now transported to the end user, which saves on volume, weight and packaging. Another thing found was that plastic has less pollution compared to glass.
