Bachelor Assignment

The assignment, provided by DropCabin, focuses on developing an interior design for starters and seniors into DropCabins. Research involves analyzing existing floorplans for these target groups and conducting interviews to understand their needs and values. Gained insights include that both groups prioritize spaciousness and natural light, especially in the living room. The market is analyzed through reverse architecting and desk research, revealing smart interior solutions for one-purpose and multi-purpose functionalities. The design phase is a continuous process of converging and diverging, starting with eighteen design proposals. Several assessment rounds lead to a final design featuring wide walking routes, a connected bathroom and bedroom, and a spacious living room with large windows. The final design is complemented by a furniture design that accommodates all multi-purpose functionalities. This thesis enables the company to take its DropCabins to the next level of development.
