Bachelor Assignment

The project continued the development of a modular shelving unit for Van Der Jeugd Architecten, an architectural firm located in Enschede. Van der Jeugd Architecten aims to expand its reach in the semi-customizable furniture market while upholding its core pillars of sustainable beauty, human-centred design, simplicity, and sustainability.

In the end, the modular shelving unit was successfully finalized and ready to be introduced to the market. The design includes four different-sized modules made from 12mm Hi-Macs sheets, a solid-surface material. These modules offer the possibility to add doors and can be combined to create larger compositions tailored to the consumer's specific needs. In the end, the modular shelving unit exhibits a unique visual appeal that perfectly aligns with the design vision of Van Der Jeugd Architecten.
