Bachelor Assignment

This thesis focuses on the design process of a green façade system for the company Unitura. The aim is to create a sustainable, durable and ecological façade that supports the growth of climbing plants to enhance biodiversity in urban landscapes.

The result is a sustainable and ecological green façade system which is composed of twelve seemingly different tiles made of arbolite, a wood-concrete composite. By using native plants, the need for additional irrigation is eliminated which adds to the sustainability of the product. It offers modular animal shelters and an adaptable trellis network to support different types of climbing plants.
