With the use of visualisations, making the ‘Fincent’ web app understandable for debtors without literacy being an issue

Innovadis is developing the 'Fincent' web app, which is made to meet the needs of debtors, providing them with a platform to contact their debt counsellors and gain insights into their financial situation. Considering that half of the debtors in the Netherlands are low literate, the focus of this assignment was to create an app that is easily understandable for this target group.
The final design of the app incorporates illustrations and icons to enhance its understandability. Beyond visual elements, the text, structure, and functions of the app are also improved to further improve its understandability. To provide guidance, a booklet has been created, where all the design guidelines are written for low literacy. This booklet serves as a guide for designing an app that has low-literate users.
