Decrease Environmental Impact by Changing Dietary Habits

In this thesis, it is researched what the best and most efficient method is to guide consumers into more sustainable dietary habits. With the use of an in-depth analysis, consisting out of a quantitative and qualitative survey, important insights about the influence of dietary habits on the environmental impact of an individual are found. In the design phase, it is identified that the best method to help consumers reduce their ecological footprint is with the development of an application. This application educates its users about the impact of their dietary choices, offers them sustainable alternatives, and tracks their environmental impact. By combining the results from both phases, an integrated solution to the research question is realized, making the step towards living a more sustainable life achievable.
