Bachelor Assignment

The main goal of the thesis is to create a fitting piece of outdoor furniture for the Terrassenhaus, an architectural significant building in Berlin. And with this, bring back cohesion between furniture and building and so strengthening the effectiveness of the building.

This was achieved by gaining a deep knowledge of the building, how and why it was designed and applying that knowledge in the design process.

The design aligns itself with these design principles and goals of the building, this is seen in its raw and weather resistant materials and its robust and time-proof construction, that is still modifiable to fit the needs of the future. This design creates opportunities for additions like backrests and side-tables, to aid in its multifunctional roll accompanying the Terrassenhaus.
