Bachelor Assignment

The goal of this project was to develop a locking product for the Plus rain cover of Urban Arrow's Family electric cargo bikes. Urban Arrow is a Dutch company specialising in the manufacture of electric cargo bikes and related accessories. As the popularity of cargo bikes increased, so did the theft of accessories, especially rain covers. To prevent this a cable combination lock is sewn on the back of the cover. The cable wraps around the bike's steering wheel, connecting the cover to the bike. Any attempt to steal the cover would require cutting the cable, damaging the cover and making it difficult to resell. A serial number is also added to the cover, making it traceable. These changes will help deter theft and protect Urban Arrow's customers rain covers.
