Bachelor Assignment

This thesis focuses on the development of a compression moulded, recycled fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite (FRTC), consisting of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and carbon fibre (CF). It examines how various design elements can affect the fibre content distribution, orientation of fibres, migration of fibres, defect formation and fibre interaction. The design was made to answer a series of research questions, where a hypothesis is presented for each question. Simulations are performed to provide validity to the design.
