The re-design of a data analysis tool for process optimisation

Batenburg Bellt is developing a data analysis application to support process engineers in process optimisation. The application is intended to act as central collection point for production data to mitigate the challenges involved in integration of production data from multiple data sources. The application was developed to allow process engineers to conduct data analysis independently without the need for data analysts.


The design process follows the development of the application from a low-fidelity prototype to a high-fidelity prototype. The final design was created in collaboration with product stakeholders.


The final result was a high-fidelity Figma prototype. The user can conduct data analysis within the application making use of data in the application. The analysis workflow includes data selection and preprocessing, filtering, visualization and a report of the analysis.
