Bachelor Assignment

This thesis explores information needs of large-scale farmers for improving resource and animal management and investigates effective information presentation methods. The research involved modeling farms, roles, and key performance indicators, validated through farmer discussions. Design guidelines were developed for an information dashboard using User Experience principles. A digital mock-up was created and evaluated with experts and farmers. Findings emphasize the importance of visualizations aligning with farmers' mental models, customizable data views, and year-over-year comparisons. Further field research and expanded user testing are recommend for validating the results. This research contributes to the development of more effective information systems in livestock farming, potentially enhancing performance in the agricultural sector.
