Embarking on a transformative bachelor's assignment, within the Humanitarian Engineering research group at the Department of Design the focus is on designing a user-centric mobile application for students in underserved communities, spotlighting Flint, Michigan. This project addresses the critical issue of limited access to clean water resources, particularly impacting educational institutions and students' well-being. This vision is pursued through the application of Humanitarian Engineering principles, fostering a culture characterized by innovation, inclusivity, and long-term sustainability. Collaborating with key stakeholders, the research aims to bridge gaps in water education by fostering engagement, and awareness, promoting responsible water usage, and actively involving students in shaping the future of water accessibility. This assignment not only tackles immediate challenges but also lays the foundation for sustainable water management practices in underserved areas, contributing to the broader discourse on technology-driven solutions for social impact.
