Research and conceptual development of a CBRN mask for Military K9’s (or MWD) - Reduction of Current Animal Testing and Experimentation in Product Development
At: Ministerie van Defensie - Coördinatiecentrum Expertise Arbeidsomstandigheden en Gezondheid
The aim was to develop use case scenarios and various concepts in conjunction with a low-resolution prototype. This should then result in a feasibility study for the given scenario.
On one hand, the assignment was directed towards a very technical design problem. On the other hand, interdisciplinary design communication was an essential part of the thesis.
Low-resolution prototypes were utilized during meetings with the client to have a tangible basis for discussion about conceptual solution strategies.
To get a clearer idea of the surroundings and the likeliness of success for the conceptual solution strategies in those surroundings several calculations were made. The calculations were supported by the laboratory measurements.
In the end a conclusion was drawn of whether or not the conceptual solution strategy that was assumed to be most likely to succeed in the chosen context is feasible.
