Bachelor Assignment

The assignment by Albo Deuren B.V. was to develop a for the customer invisible fixation between the glass and the wood of straight profile interior doors. This fixation should be flexible to prevent the glass from breaking by the working of wood and had to provide a solid fixation of the glass, as well as making sure the rebate (the part where the glass lies in the door) was waterproof. After brainstorming, developing, testing and making prototypes, the solution was found in a simple waterproof sealant, in combination with kit. The kit provides an elastic and strong fixation between the wood and the glass in the rebate, whereas the waterproof sealant makes sure the water never touches the wood, next to this it is very cheap and easy to implement.
