Conceptual user interface design for the analysis of running techniques
At: Roessingh Research and Development
Roessingh Research and Development is collaborating to develop a sensor-based system that gives a runner insights and feedback on their running technique. This system, the Runner Assist, could aid in preventing injuries. The aim of the assignment was to design a user interface concept for this product, with respect to the user’s desires.
During the course of this assignment it was explored what data, collected by the system, users considered useful, and also at which moment. This resulted in decisions on what data is shown either during and/or after running. Subsequently, it was researched how this data could be visualised. Both the general aesthetic of the interface and the data presentation itself were taken into account. This resulted in a concept, designed for a smartwatch, a smartphone, and a webpage.
