Design of an orange juicer focused on usability

Brightbird wanted to develop an improved orange juicer, on the basis of juicer which was designed by Bart Kip 10 years ago. Increasing the usability was a key-driver, after research it was clear a lot of improvement could be made in the cleaning of the juicer easier.
After intensive research a special feature was designed in order to make the cleaning and usage of the juicer more effective. This unique feature adds value to the juicer.
Furthermore, the design had to be updated and made more appealing. Inspiration was found in current kitchen design trends. Nevertheless, the juicer had to correspond with most kitchen designs. The basic geometry of the juicer is minimalistic. There is a wide range of colours and materials that can be selected to give the juicer the desired look and feel.
