Bachelor Assignment

Augmented reality is a technology that augments the user’s world. With the Microsoft HoloLens (an augmented reality headset), users can see digitally created models in the real environment. This technology can be used in a factory to give assembly line workers instructions on how to build the products. This improves their efficiency and lowers the error rate. In this bachelor assignment the feasibility and challenges were investigated. This resulted in a prototype application that was developed for the HoloLens and tested by several users. Augmented reality is a promising technology in the manufacturing sector, but several improvements in technology and software are still needed.
