Bachelor Assignment

The theater of the SmartXP-lab is long hall located at the back of the Zilverling building on the University of Twente. The hall is used for various contexts by different users, but is primarily used as the main lecture hall for the study of Creative Technology. In 2018 the study had over 120 first year students, which created problems for the current rows configuration of tables and chairs. Therefore a new classroom configuration was designed. A 3D model of the SmartXP-lab was made to place tables and chairs in different configurations to see whether they fit. Eventually the “Stadium” configuration was actually placed in the SmartXP-lab and tested with two teachers and groups of 70 and 40 students to find out whether it was better than the current rows setup.
