Tiny Houses for Students
At: Campus & Facility Management
In order to design tiny houses for students research has been done to find how small a house can be, while still being comfortable enough to accommodate a student. It was found that there are three basic needs, which are a kitchen a bathroom and a bed. In the final design the focus is on the bed, because this piece of furniture offers the best space saving options. Since it is used horizontally it can be placed near the ceiling, like a loft, underneath a platform, or it could be integrated in the wall and taken out at night. In this design the bed can be lifted all the way to the ceiling and pulled down to the level of the kitchen and bathroom at night. This leaves space for use of choice underneath the basic functions.
