At: Carbonara Vintage Automobiles
Carbonara Vintage Automobiles is a FIAT 500 specialist in Maastricht. They have recently started building prototypes for an electric version of the classic 500, called the FIAT 500 CE. The task was to design components for the 500 CE concerning the display of the battery charge percentage, charging progress, and the lack of a unique selling point.
Before the first ideas were sketched out, the interactions with the FIAT 500 were compared to those with a comparable modern electric car, the original design was extensively researched, competitors in the market were analyzed, and the expected target group was researched.
Following these analyses, a digital screen that replaces the original speedometer and a phone holder were eventually chosen. This design offers a unique selling point and an advantage over Carbonara’s competitors.
